Following on from the success of being highly recommended by the Observer Food Magazine at the start of April, we’ve received more awards this week.

The Soil Association Organic Awards announced this week that we are in the top three Large Organic Shops in the country (congratulations to the winner, Infinity in Brighton).

The Natural and Organic Products Award, voted on by our industry colleagues, also put us in the top three Large Natural Products Shops nationally.

This sort of recognition is amazing for us. We don’t have big budgets for marketing campaigns. We’re not the smartest shop and we’re in the heart of inner city urbania. We know we’re not perfect, and there are so many more things we could be doing, but it feels like our hard work is at least being recognised, and it gives us a little boost to try harder. It’s not about winning, and we do the things we’re doing because we believe in them, but it’s great to be patted on the back from time to time.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff here at BFC. They’re an incredibly hard working, caring bunch of people, and make this place what it is.
