Banana Milkshake
1 ripe banana
100ml real orange juice or the juice of one fresh orange
300ml milk
small pot (125–150g) of unsweetened yoghurt (low-fat yoghurt is OK)
- Peel and chop the banana.
- Put the banana into a blender. If you don't have a blender, you can mash the banana in a bowl with a fork until it is smooth, before adding the other ingredients.
- Add the milk, orange juice and yoghurt to the blender. Add ice if you want to make it a chilled drink for summer.
- Put the lid onto the blender and blend for 5–10 seconds – until the mixture is smooth. If you don't have a blender, stir all the ingredients together with a whisk until the mixture is as smooth as possible.
- Pour into two glasses
- Serve.
Ideal for pregnant and breastfeeding mums, and children aged one year and over. The orange juice gives it a lovely tangy taste and contains lots of vitamin C too!
