View across the hills ABOUT OUR NEW GROWING OPERATION

Phil HaughtonWood Barn Farm is the place where the Better Food Company are now growing food. Its a wondeful organic farm with our fields over looking the Chew Valley Lake.

We started planting on this site early Spring 2009. The soil is grade one and as its already converted to organic, we have a healthy soil ready to produce some fab food for our shop and box scheme.

Normally the produce we pick will be the day it is dispalyed in the shop or packed in your box. Being only 12 miles from Bristol means that not only is it super fresh, but also really low food miles.

Lucy, our Soil Association apprentice, Atanas and I already have volunteers helping us get settled and giving them a chance to learn more about growing food on a field scale. The big plan is to launch a Community supported agricuture project, or CSA. You can read more about our plans in the Community Farm section here.

We encourage folk not to come out to us by car. Try the bus, or take a day trip by bike. You can take the 67 from Horsefair, the 672 from Colston Avenue or the 376 from the Bus Station in the centre of Bristol.

Or, this excellent website will work out your bus journey for you: www.travelinesw.com.

The farm is 15 minutes walk from the bus stop in Chew Magna village.
