RETAIL MANAGER
FULL TIME
SALARY: £18-£21k depending on experience
RESPONSIBLE TO: The General Manager and the Company Director
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The management of the Retail Department
PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead and inspire the retail team, in order to maximize the business potential of the retail operation, through delivery of efficient practice and excellent customer service.
You will be expected to uphold company values and ethos, lead by example and help all retail staff achieve their best potential.
You will also be expected to lead the team to meet company targets and standards, and sustain and increase business potential.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To actively support the General Manager to deliver business objectives and activities, and encourage team member awareness and involvement in these objectives.
- To assist with the delivery of the company vision and ethos, and to lead and motivate staff with this aim.
- You will be responsible for ensuring Health and Safety regulations and Hygiene regulations are enforced and complied with within your department. It is your responsibility to work with the Safer Food Better Business manual and ensure all paper work is up to date.
- You will be responsible for the security of the shop, maintain good CCTV records and implement a clear policy and approach to shoplifting
- You will be responsible for the shop opening hours and all that occurs within those opening hours
- You will be responsible for staff recruitment, inductions, and the training and development of team members, including regular reviews.
- You will be responsible for meeting financial targets, adhering to wage budgets and spending budgets.
- You will be responsible for monitoring and achieving target margins and ensuring all stock is delivering adequate return.
- You will have ultimate responsibility for stock levels and monitoring, through stock taking, and sensible purchasing and be held accountable for meeting agreed stock holding targets.
- To lead and inspire on the delivery of excellent customer service, and to maintain and develop the best possible customer experience.
- To take full responsibility for the management of tills, cash, cash handling, transactions, discrepancies and end of shift reporting.
- To communicate effectively with and deliver appropriate support to all departments throughout the business, and promote good working relationships.
- You will be expected to ensure the efficient ordering, receipt and management of goods for the retail department, and to ensure the department is adequately and appropriately stocked.
- To provide a safe, clean and tidy environment for the customers
- To ensure the overall look and ambience of the shop, through good display and good promotions, as well as through full shelves, good signage and a clean and tidy environment.
- You will be expected to uphold and enforce discipline where necessary, within your department.
- You will be responsible for overall morale and team member well being within your department.

DELI MANAGER
FULL TIME

RESPONSIBLE FOR: The efficient management of the day to day operations of the deli department within the Clifton retail outlet
PURPOSE OF JOB
To lead and inspire the Deli team to maximize the business potential of the Deli operation, through delivery of efficient practice and excellent customer service.
You will be expected to uphold company values and ethos, lead by example and develop all team members to reach their best potential. You will be expected to lead the team to meet company standard and targets, as well as sustain and increase business potential.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To actively support the Retail Manager and General Manager to deliver business objectives and activities, and to encourage team member awareness and involvement in these objectives.
- To assist with the delivery of the company vision and ethos, and to lead and motivate team members with this aim.
- You will be responsible for ensuring Health and Safety regulations and Hygiene regulations are complied with within your department It is your responsibility to work with the Safer Food Better Business manual and ensure all paper work is up to date.
- You will be responsible for ensuring fire safety requirements are met within your department.
- You will be responsible for new team member inductions, training and development of team members, including regular reviews. You will also assist with recruiting new team members.
- You will be responsible for meeting financial targets, adhering to wage budgets and spending budgets.
- You will be responsible for monitoring and achieving target margins and ensuring all products on offer are delivering adequate return through regular menu costings. These costings will be monitored and reviewed by the General Manager.
- To have ultimate responsibility for stock levels and monitoring through stock taking and sensible purchasing.
- You will be responsible for utilizing waste from other departments to drive your menu
- To be responsible for the production of food items to be sold within the deli area, such as cakes, salads, and savoury items.
- To lead and inspire on the delivery of excellent customer service, and to maintain and develop the best possible customer experience.
- To communicate effectively with and deliver appropriate support to all departments throughout the business, and promote good working relationships.
- To ensure efficient ordering and management of goods for the café, to ensure the department is adequately stocked.
- To provide a clean, safe, tidy environment for the customers.
- To be responsible for the display and promotion of the Deli products
- You will assist the Retail Manager to be responsible for team member discipline in accordance with company disciplinary practice and procedure
- You will assist the Retail Manager to be responsible for overall morale and team member well being within your department.

You will also be expected to assist the retail manager to meet company targets and standards, and sustain and increase business potential.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To actively support the Retail Manager to deliver business objectives, and targets in the fresh produce department.
- To assist with the delivery of the company vision and ethos, as it relates to fresh produce and to motivate team members with this aim.
- You will be responsible for leading on and maintaining the best possible quality control standards for fresh produce
- You will be responsible for leading on and maintaining high standards of presentation of the Fresh produce
- You will be responsible for all administration of the department and expected to keep accurate records
- You will be responsible for ensuring the fresh produce section and relevant areas are kept clean and tidy.
- You will be responsible for ensuring a regular cleaning schedule is in place and being acted upon
- You will be responsible for assisting the retail manager with staff recruitment, inductions, and the training and development of team members, including regular reviews.
- You will be responsible for display of produce.
- You will be responsible for monitoring and recording weekly wastage totals and ensuring, along with the retail manager, that all stock is delivering adequate return.

STOCK MANAGER
FULL TIME
SALARY: £7.50 per hour
RESPONSIBLE TO: The Retail Manager and the Assistant Retail Manager, The General Manager and the Company Director in that order
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The overall supervision of the Stock System/Room
PURPOSE OF JOB
To work closely with and support the Retail Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of stock control within the better food company retail operation, through efficient ordering and goods in procedures and regular stock taking.
You will be expected to uphold company values and ethos, lead by example and assist the retail manager in achieving business objectives.
You will also be expected to assist the retail manager to meet company targets and standards, and sustain and increase business potential.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To actively support the Retail Manager to deliver business objectives, and targets through diligent stock control
- You will be responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of goods in and all associated paperwork and administration
- You will be responsible for leading a weekly stocktaking program
- You will be responsible for ensuring the stock room and goods in areas are kept clean and tidy.
- You will be responsible for leading the monthly stock take
- You will be responsible for assisting the retail manager with staff stock room inductions and the training and development of team members in relation to stock issues
- You will be responsible for ordering the bulk of goods for the retail shop
- You will be responsible for monitoring and recording weekly wastage totals and ensuring, along with the retail manager, that all stock is delivering adequate return.

- You will be expected to report any incidents on the shop floor of shoplifting, aggressive or offensive behaviour.
- You will be required to undertaken any reasonable given task as requested by the management team
- You will be responsible for delegating tasks to team members as needed, and in accordance with daily to do lists.
- You will be expected to support and encourage your fellow team members to the best of your ability.
